“Fuck,” I muttered, looking down at Emily who was sleeping soundly beside me.

“Keep an eye and ear out. We all come to you when we’re in trouble, so Malachi and Beckett are hoping he will too.”

“What does Beckett have to say about it?”

“He’s angry, of course he’s angry.”

He had vouched for us, so every time Azrael went off the deep end, Beckett took it personally. “Alright, I’ll keep my eye out for him and let you know what I hear.” I glanced back towards the cracked bedroom door, my heart already thumping.

I walked up to it slowly, opening it a bit more so the light from the room didn’t wake her.

She was snoring softly, her line of drool dripping from her mouth onto her pillow, her hair spread everywhere. I couldn’t help but smile.

“Greyson?”

“Hmm?” I asked, watching as she stretched, groaning lazily. Fuck.

“How are you doing? Malachi said you were having troubles.
